Oprah Book Club Selections
Some of the artwork for the background displays of the bookThieves were inspired by how Oprah did it in her pages: The Oprah Book Club Selections.
Beneath are "Oprah Book Club Selection" style images for Trey Smith's Thieves. The examples also have independent style similarities to Oprah Book Club Selection authors: Say You're One of Them by Uwem Akpan, A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Light in August by William Faulkner The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner, Night by Elie Wiesel & Stieg Larsson's Dragon Tattoo Trilogy (Stieg Larsson may not be an Oprah Book Club author, none-the-less, the style is presented)
Two Quick Quotes
"It is one thing to have something people seem to like, it is another thing to market it to them. I assure you that some of the greatest books, stories and inventions of our age end up collecting dust from a lack of glitter, poor presentation, and discouragment at the first hint of opposition." -- Trey Smith
"Strange though --- as one reaches toward God Himself in the short hours of any given day.... the more everything that seemed so important before starts looking like nonsense." ----- Trey Smith
